Each year, around this time, fly fishing the Firehole River inside Yellowstone National Park comes to mind and inches to the top of my yearly bucket list.
From April 16th to April 24th, 2016, it’s National Park Week! The National Park Service is encouraging everyone to explore their favorite National Park; and, to do so, Park admission is free.
Early Spring turns out to be a very good time to cruise the geyser basin boardwalks and trails. There are hardly any crowds; and, your chances of seeing wildlife or witnessing an unexpected thermal event appear to be much higher and, perhaps, more rewarding.
A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be fly fishing the Yellowstone River near Emigrant, Montana. Standing in the middle of the stream, I turned to look at the surrounding mountains and discovered that the moon was making a mid-day appearance.
